Exploring Tarot Decks: My Favorites and Why They Resonate
When it comes to tarot, the decks we choose often reflect our personal connection to their imagery, energy, and symbolism. Each deck has its own unique aesthetic and vibrational quality, and the one (or ones!) we feel drawn to can reveal a lot about our intuitive style and the kind of guidance we seek. I am always interested in what others use and why.
My Current Favorites
For me, The Light Seers Tarot is my go-to deck. Its vibrant, modern artwork and intuitive design make it incredibly accessible, especially for readings that require deep emotional insight or spiritual guidance.
The deck’s uplifting energy and inclusive imagery create a safe, inspiring space for exploration, allowing me to connect with its messages on a very deep level. Whether I’m seeking clarity or inspiration, this deck never fails to help light the path forward.
I also use The Zerner-Farber Tarot which I first came across in 2010. It’s no longer in print but if you see a copy anywhere at a reasonable price (an Amazon third party seller has it, but the price is outrageous!), I do recommend getting it.
I have probably been through ten or more copies of this deck! Being a professional reader, I get through several decks a year so now it’s out of print I use it sparingly!
Occasionally, I’ll reach for The Wildwood Tarot, a deck I deeply cherish for its earthy, nature-inspired themes and its profound connection to the cycles of the natural world. Its symbolism and grounding energy make it great for introspective readings. The deck’s imagery, steeped in folklore and the changing seasons, feels both ancient and timeless, offering a unique perspective that resonates with my love for the natural world and its mysteries.
And Talisman’s…
Talisman, on the other hand, has a different preference. He often works with The Hoodoo Tarot, drawn to its unique blend of folk art and its very powerful energy. He also frequently uses the Tarot of Dreams deck, appreciating its timeless symbolism and straightforward interpretations.
So, What About Yours?
Between us, we own a great number of decks, but these four are the ones we use most frequently at this moment in time. Each deck has its own personality and purpose, and choosing the right one often depends on the type of reading or the energy we’re seeking to channel.
Every deck offers a distinct lens through which to explore the mysteries of life. The right deck can feel like a trusted companion, aligning with our energy and enhancing our readings.
What about you? Which tarot decks do you use most, and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
