Using Tarot for Everyday Purposes Such as Journaling

Some people, including me, incorporate a daily ritual of pulling a card, often from a tarot deck, sometimes an oracle deck, or even a set of affirmation cards, to gain insight or guidance about how their day might unfold. For most people it is usually tarot that is used and that’s the tool that I generally opt for.
In some ways, it is still looking at the future as in what will be happening that day, but it’s more than that if you want it to be.
At the Beginning of the Day
This practice can serve as a way to set intentions, focus your mindset, or simply invite reflection on potential themes or energies for the day ahead. After drawing the card, I might spend a few moments contemplating its meaning, symbolism, or how it resonates with my current circumstances.
At the End of the Day
At the end of the day, I take time to journal about my experiences, reflecting on how the card’s message or energy manifested in my day. This could involve noting specific events, interactions, or emotions that seemed to align with the card’s meaning.
For example, if I drew a card symbolizing creativity, I might write about moments when I felt inspired or engaged in a creative project. If the card represented challenges, I might reflect on obstacles I faced and how I navigated them.
So, What’s in It for You?
This practice not only encourages mindfulness and self-awareness but can also help you track patterns or recurring themes in your life over time. It can be a tool for personal growth, offering a structured way to connect with your intuition, process daily experiences, and gain deeper insights into your journey.
For me and possibly for you, it’s a spiritual practice; or it may simply be a reflective exercise that adds meaning and intentionality to your daily routine.
It is also a great way to learn what the cards can mean.
